Dierks Bentley

By Lorraine Kay

August 2010 – LANCASTER, CA – With just five more days left to enjoy the Antelope Valley Fair and Alfalfa Festival 2010, fair attendees were rocked one more night by country music artist Dierks Bentley. This concert was the last of the Lancaster Honda hosted concert series at the Antelope Valley fairgrounds for the year 2010.

Bentley excited the crowd as he started the show with “Up on the Ridge.” and quickly jumping to “Free And Easy,” with the audience singing along. Next he offered them “Feel That Fire,” and then “Trying To Stop Your Leaving,” and “Lot Of Leavin’ Left To Do.” “Every Mile Of Memory” still had the audience on its feet without settling down for “Settle For A Slowdown.” And Bentley did no slowing down as he offered “Little Heartwrecker,” “ Wanna Make You Close Your Eyes,” and “Long Trip Alone.”

Next Bentley paid tribute to George Strait as he covered “All My Ex’s Live In Texas” with the audience singing along as backup. He rounded up the concert with a few more songs, including; How Am I Doin’” “Fiddlin’ Around,” “Draw Me A Map,” and “Sideways.” Bentley returned to the stage for an encore of two songs, “Come A Little Closer” and “What Was I Thinkin’”.

In addition to the Lancaster Honda concert series there will be innumerable other events including; exhibits, motorized events, bull riding, carnival rides, great food, free grounds entertainment and much more!
