JANN KLOSE PERFORMS AT FIDDLERS CROSSING, FEBRUARY 1
The German born singer/guitarist Jann Klose will be performing at Fiddlers Crossing, 206 East F Street, in Tehachapi, on February 1, at 7 PM. Making a return visit to what Klose considers a friendly place to play, Klose will be introducing new music from his two latest albums to what he called his “friends in Tehachapi”.
Klose has played at Fiddler’s Crossing twice before to an always good turn-out. Locals consider him one of them and are always happy to see when he returns. His familiar music ranges from folk to jazz to blues. With an eclectic background, his song list has something for everyone. This time around he will be accompanied by Mark Solomon on bass.
Others have described his voice as a “soaring voice, which may be a staple of chamber pop for a long time to come.” Klose continues to expand his experience in the entertainment business. An area that he would like to work more is in film. He has performed on stage several times and in films for some time now, but recently he was the featured singer and guitarist in the upcoming feature film, GREETINGS FROM TIM BUCKLEY (Tribeca Films/Focus World). Klose plays the voice and guitarist Tim Buckley off camera.
He stays busy in the recording studio as well. He recently finished work on the follow up to his critically acclaimed album, REVERIE which was heard on over 140 fm radio stations. He is coming out with one new album, but folks will hear music from his most recent album, REVERIE and EP SACRIFICE, plus his upcoming album, MOSAIC in Tehachapi”. He’s been working with producers James Frazee (Blondie, My Morning Jacket, Esperanza Spalding) and David Bendeth (Bruce Hornsby, Paramore, Elvis Presley). He is also writing songs with Gary Lucas (Captain Beefheart, Jeff Buckley) and recently appeared with Gary at the CBGB Music Festival. Klose’s music is heard on the GRAMMY-nominated ‘Healthy Food for Thought” compilation, MTV Cribs, and in Paul Sorvino’s movie, DEAD BROKE.
Enjoying a third visit to Tehachapi, but he doesn’t get to stay long in any one place. Maintainomg a steady touring schedule of about 75-100 shows a year in the U.S. and Europe, this tour has him in San Diego on the 31st, Tehachapi on Friday and Venice on Saturday. Tehachapi can be honored that he is making that side trip to spend some time with friends
Klose is no stranger to traveling, born in Germany and raised in Kenya and South Africa, it seems he was destined to travel, Jann first came to the U.S. as an exchange student. As a singer/actor Jann has been seen and heard in Broadway’s Jekyll & Hyde as well as touring companies of The Who’s Tommy and Jesus Christ Superstar.
