FOUR NEW PERFORMERS ADDED TO THE 2013 PALMDALE AUTO MALL CONCERT SERIES AT THE A.V. FAIR
LANCASTER, CA – Officials for the A.V Fairgrounds today announced the addition of four new performers to the Palmdale Auto Mall* Concert Series:
ANN MARIE, Friday, 8/16, opening for DARRIUS RUCKER. Raised in Thousand Oaks, CA, singer Ann Marie grew up as the middle child of five kids and is a genuine “farmer’s daughter”. Her dad’s love for country music rubbed off on her at a young age. This was no surprise to her mother who claims that Marie sang before she talked. Marie moved to Nashville at age 19 to pursue her dreams of singing and writing country music where she started out waiting tables, cleaning houses, and sang demos in order to support her musical dreams. Besides Darius Rucker, Marie has shared the stage and learned from artists such as ADELE, Josh Groban, Richard Marx, Kenny G., Brian McKnight etc. and opened for acts such as Dierks Bentley, Josh Turner, Big & Rich, Clay Walker, Deana Carter and more. Ann Marie is the true triple threat; singer, songwriter and performer with a big voice, raw-edged style and strong-willed female perspective.
CAITLIN CROSBY, Saturday, 8/17, opening for FOREIGNER. California native, Caitlin Crosby is a singer-songwriter and actress. Crosby began playing music in church bands during junior high school. Prior to becoming a musician, Crosby worked as an actress in various TV shows that helped get her in the entertainment industry. Crosby had acting roles in ”Malcolm in the Middle”, ”Living with Fran”, ”That ’70s Show”, ”That’s So Raven”, and ”7th Heaven”. With its sophisticated, smoky sonic palette Crosby’s new release, “Save that pillow” is a diverse collection of music. Her cinematic musical backdrop adds edge and intrigue to Crosby’s lyrics about women who give themselves to undeserving men (the soulfully sad “Save That Pillow”), the emptiness of L.A.’s party-hardy club scene (the strutting “Is This the Good Life?”), redemption in the midst of despair (the smoldering, syncopated “Gasoline”; the mountain gospel of “Cracked Me Open,” the tongue in cheek tribune to daily life in Los Angeles (“Just Another Day”) and the vintage sounding buildup of “Consolation Prize”).

WESTON BURT, Monday, 8/19, opening for SHERYL CROW
Alabama has produced its share of country-music stars, and with the emergence of Weston Burt, the State may be poised to add another to its pedigree. Born in Fort Wayne – the home of iconic super group Alabama – Weston is a commanding performer steeped in the traditions of Southern rock and country. Burt’s career in music started while attending college at Auburn University. He currently performs up to a staggering 150 dates a year. Burt’s music is influenced by Garth Brooks, Alabama, Lynryd Skynyrd and Brooks and Dunn. His debut single is a song called “Lucky Sometimes” and according to Burt, “I’m a hard-working guy from Alabama who loves country music and I’m ready for my shot.”
QUINN SULLIVAN, Tuesday, 8/20, Special guest to the BUDDY GUY BAND performing with GEORGE THOROGOOD & THE DESTROYERS. Discovered at the age of 8 by legendary multi-Grammy™ winning blues guitarist Buddy Guy, the now 14 year old guitarist, Quinn Sullivan, has made the most of that remarkable encounter having just released his first album, “Getting There” on June 13, 2013 on the SuperStar Records label. Recognizing Sullivan’s amazing musical prowess, Guy became a mentor to the New Bedford, MA native. That circumstance led to Quinn’s playing a blistering solo that belied his tender age on “Whose Gonna Fill Those Shoes,”—a track on Skin Deep, Guy’s 2008 Grammy-nominated album. The Getting There album showcases Quinn’s wide range and includes blues, pop and rock tracks that will appeal to music fans of any age that favor authentic guitar-driven grooves and melodies. Sullivan is as adept at vocals as he is at making his beloved Stratocaster sing.
